Made in the group’s factory in Abu Dhabi, the vehicle that can travel on all roads as well as off road and in all weather conditions is turning heads at the three-day International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience that kicked off at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on April 1.

This year, homeland security is estimated to grow into a $443.8 million global market with the Middle East and Africa expected to be the largest spenders due to the burgeoning human movement, airport expansion, construction and oil and gas activity in these regions. The importance of the business has drawn all the big players to the Abu Dhabi exhibition.

Tawazun’s stand is one of the largest at the exhibition and the displays have a wide range, from the Caracal pistols to the Nimr internal security vehicle.

The armoured vehicle has 10 gun ports and escape hatches and can carry up to eight equipped troops. Its powerful speakers can communicate at a 1.5 kilometres distance. According to Yousef Hassan Al Sheybah, commercial director of Nimr Automotive, it is meant to control riots.
