Abu Dhabi: Tawazun Economic Council (TEC) has hosted its Third Defence Contractors Council (DCC) meeting in London ahead of its participation in Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2013, the world’s largest fully integrated defence and security exhibition. The exhibition opens tomorrow in London’s Excel Centre.

Since its inception in 1992, the Council has been working to fulfil a drive for comprehensive and sustainable economic and social development within the UAE, in line with the visions and thoughts of the UAE government.
In a large part, this vision is being realised through partnerships with a number of carefully selected, world-class international defence contractors, and the DCC, which was established to help an ongoing open dialogue between TEC and its partners, according to a press statement issued by Tawazun today.

Providing an annual forum to share views and highlight areas for improvement and encourage transparency. This year’s DCC meeting in London included reports on the latest implemented projects, an outline of local companies in defence and aerospace domains and an assessment of new partnership opportunities.

Matar Ali Al Romaithi, the Chief Officer of Industrial Development Unit at Tawazun Economic Council, commented, “The Defence Contractors Council has proven to be a highly successful forum for building stronger relationships between the Tawazun Economic Council and our international partners. We are particularly pleased that we were able to hold this year’s meeting in London in advance of our involvement in DSEI 2013.”
