Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2017), will take place on the 19th – 23rd February at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi. It is the most strategic tri-service defense exhibition in the world, catering to land, sea and air sectors of the defense industry.
Tawazun, the UAE-based strategic investment and defense manufacturing company, will be taking part as Principal Partner at IDEX 2017, alongside its subsidiaries and partners. A total of 8 subsidiaries and partners will be present at the Tawazun stand at IDEX. These will include Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP), Al Hosn, Advanced Pyrotechnics (APT), Jaheziya, Remaya, Rabdan Academy, Tawazun Training Center (TTC), and representatives from the National Defense Contractors Council (NDCC).
Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP) is a unique, self-contained, world class industrial zone that was established to help further develop the UAE’s industrial capabilities. TIP’s core principle is to provide its clients with a supportive and nurturing environment. It primarily provides a manufacturing base for defense-related products while also playing host to industries from other sectors, such as Defense related manufacturing, Metal basic industries, Precision manufacturing, Aerospace and Oil and gas support and service industry.
Al Hosn is one of the latest companies launched by Tawazun. Its formation was announced at the International Exhibition of National Security and Resilience (ISNR), held in Abu Dhabi in 2016.It was established as a Tawazun subsidiary and specializes in production of ballistic vests and protection solutions. The company’s key operations focus on the development, production, import and export of the protection solutions. It also produces stand-alone hard plates, which are entirely developed and tested in the UAE. The technology used by the company could also be utilized to armor and protect light and heavy vehicles
Advanced Pyrotechnics is a joint company recently launched between Tawazun & MP3 that supports customers with the right solutions to protect and maintain community security. Specializing in the design and manufacture of custom-made non-lethal, and less-than-lethal pyrotechnics and ammunition, their products and solutions are dedicated to supporting armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the demanding and dangerous operational tasks they carry out on a daily basis to protect the society.
Jaheziya the brand name for Tawazun Safety, Security and Disaster Management City, stands for “readiness” or “preparedness”. Jaheziya specialize in the provision of technical, vocational and professional training for intra-agency, interagency and multi-agency operations in the fields of safety, security, emergency preparedness, and crisis/disaster management. Initiated by Tawazun, Jaheziya aims to offer training that will help build, sustain and enhance the UAE›s capacity to protect communities, assets and vital infrastructure.
Remaya has been an expert in consulting on designing and delivery of world-class solutions for the shooting industry since 2009. The organization remains committed to turning the UAE into a regional shooting hub and channeling it to the forefront of defense training on tactical and target shooting, aided by the latest technologies.
Rabdan Academy is the Abu Dhabi based multi-disciplinary Academy that provides a learning environment of choice for the continuing development and integration of safety, security, defense, emergency preparedness and crisis management professionals. It specializes on developing individual and organizational future-class standards that ensure a highly specialized, multi-disciplinary, coherent, robust and sustainable national capability for protection of the international community, its people and its asset.
Tawazun Training Center was born out of a vision to developing human resource capabilities and support Tawazun’s long-term growth blueprint. They design and deliver a variety of high quality training and development programs for both UAE nationals and expatriates.
TTC has secured strategic partnerships with recognized educational institutes in the UAE and beyond to equip trainees with a better standard of technical education. Some of the academic institutions that they have synergized with include UAE University, Abu Dhabi University and the Simson Private Akademie Institute in Germany.
The National Defense Contractors Council, or NDCC, is part of the Tawazun Economic Council, and seeks to liaise and facilitate joint projects between national defense contractors and international partners that contribute to expanding the defense manufacturing sector. It also acts as a hub to facilitate foreign direct investment, build defense and security technology platforms and achieve Abu Dhabi’s defense objectives. It adds great value to its Council members and this is clearly reflected in the recent and significant growth of 40 private contractor companies becoming members in the past two years alone.
