Tawazun Economic Council has joined the UAE’s celebrations of the International Day of Happiness, which is celebrated worldwide every March 20.

“We are pleased to join the world in celebrating the International Happiness Day, especially at this time when happiness has become a top priority in the UAE Government’s agenda,” said Tareq Abdul Raheem Al Hosani, Chief Executive Officer of Tawazun Economic Council.

Al Hosani added that the concept of happiness as a sustainable goal, as well as an effective tool for the welfare of the society, is clearly reflected in the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of His Highness Sheikh mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

“Tawazun Economic Council is diligently working to spread happiness among the employees, partners and the community at large, in line with the leadership’s commitment to make the UAE the best and happiest country in the world,” said Al Hosani.

He indicated that earlier this year, the Council created Happiness and Positivity Committee, which is tasked with ensuring a happy and inspiring environment within the Council.

Mona Ahmed Al Jaber, Chairperson of the Welfare Committee, said the formation of the Committee at the Council stemmed from the management’s keenness to motivate the employees and to promote the culture of happiness, wellbeing and positivity among them.

She underlined a number of initiatives launched and implemented by the Committee, which had a significant impact on their performance and overall satisfaction.

Dr. Khalifa Ali Al Suwaidi, Assistant Professor at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) said in a speech he delivered at the event that promoting the happiness values would help improve productivity and performance and provide a conducive environment for the corporate operations.

In his speech, Maqsoud Kruse, Executive Director of Hedaya Centre, highlighted the significant link between the Happiness Day and the Mother’s Day, which will be celebrated on Wednesday.

He said the mother is the main source of motivation, strength and happiness for the whole family.

The UAE was recently ranked among the top 20 happiest countries in the World Happiness Report 2018.

The great achievement is the result of the country’s forward-thinking vision to achieve happiness and wellbeing in the society.
