Tawazun Economic Council and Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, which is managed by the Institute of Applied Technology, have signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with the aim of enhancing cooperation in training and developing the skills of Emirati youth in technical and technological fields.

The MOU was signed today in Abu Dhabi by Matar Ali Al Romaithi, Chief Industry Officer, Tawazun Economic Council, and Dr. Ali Hilal Alnaqbi, Director, Abu Dhabi Polytechnic.

Under the MOU, Tawazun Economic Council will donate advanced tools and equipment to Abu Dhabi Polytechnic to boost its capabilities and to enable it achieve its vision for preparing qualified and tech-savvy Emirati workforce.

“Tawazun Economic Council remains committed to providing opportunities for UAE nationals to build promising careers in core areas, such as engineering, through close cooperation and strategic partnerships with the leading educational institutions in the UAE and abroad,” said Matar Al Romaithi.

He revealed that over 436 Emirati students benefitted from the various training, internships, apprenticeship and scholarship programs provided by Tawazun.

He also applauded the role played by Abu Dhabi Polytechnic in preparing a generation of Emirati engineers, to meet the growing demand for technical talents and to serve the UAE’s drive for knowledge-based economy.

Dr. Ali Hilal Alnaqbi thanked Tawazun Economic Council for the continuous support to Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, saying that such support has reflected positively on the quality and level of academic and training programs provided to the UAE nationals.

“In alignment with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, we seek to create skilled professional technologists and engineers capable of performing at the highest international standards to contribute in building a knowledge-based economy in the UAE,” he added.

Tawazun Economic Council collaborates with leading academic institutions, to create pioneering training programs and to ensure that its people are equipped with necessary skills to meet the needs of emerging industries in the UAE.
