Jaheziya, a Tawazun subsidiary, and the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO), a member of ADNOC group, have signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on joint development of accredited curriculum and training programmes for firefighting, occupational safety and rescue operations.

The MoU was signed today on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC2014) by Jamal Saif Al Shamsi , General-Manager of Jaheziya and Abdul Monem Al Kindi, executive president of ADCO .

Under the MoU, the two companies will work together to develop accredited curriculum and deliver training programmes in various fields of Fire-fighting, as well as HSE, Emergency Response, Preparedness and Crisis/Disaster Management.

Shamsi of Jaheziya said the MoU would pave the way for a solid and consistent cooperation among the different institutions and companies in the UAE and contribute to the nation’s resilience and preparedness in times of crises.
“We are pleased to cooperate with ADCO in this important initiative and we look forward to working closely with this leading oil & gas company to deliver innovative world class training programmes in firefighting and other fields of disaster and crisis management,” added Shamsi.

Jaheziya and ADCO also agreed in the MOU to mutually create and implement a Maintenance of Competency Programme for all Fire & Rescue personnel. The programme can be extended later to cover all emergency responders.

Other programmes to be delivered under the MOU include the Train the Trainer programmes, with the aim of preparing competent and certified in-house instructors, who will later be capable to train the management staff.
